THE SURVIVAL OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE NOVEL BIRD BOX BY JOSH MARLERMAN

Abstract

researcher's main objective is to identify and find out; 1). How the main character in the novel Bird Box (Mallorie) struggles to survive in very difficult circumstances. 2). The psychological impact that occurred on Mallorie after the mysterious incident in the novel Bird Box by Josh Malerman. This research method is qualitative research, used documentation techniques. The technique used to analyze data in this research is descriptive technique. In this research, it was found that; (1) the main character in the novel Bird Box, to achieve survival, Malorie must survive by covering her eyes with a cloth so that she cannot see the situation outside which could threaten her life. (2) Psychological impacts that occurs on Mallorie is; (a) observation learning, (b) Self-Efficacy, (c) Self Determination, (d) Reinforcement.
